it me

Ok, so this is like, an extended About page. I know I have an About page, and I originally didn't really intend to write a lot about myself so I ended up not devoting a lot of space to that, but I am working on opening up more about my thoughts. Also this is a lot easier for me to edit...

The Anti-Crypto Statement

OK, I know I ALWAYS look for this information first when looking at a new software developer's works, so I want to get it out first:

I do not allow my artworks (or anything I make, really) to be used in conjunction with the above.

About

With that out of the way...hi!

I was born and grew up in the 90s in Singapore (I still live here). English is my first language, Chinese (Mandarin) is officially my mother tongue, Japanese is my third. At the moment I am working as a web developer, but I also worked in game translation (Japanese to English) for a short while, and occasionally do commissions/adoptables for a bit of extra income. My hobbies include uh...all of the above, playing the piano, and whatever I happen to be interested in at the moment.

In short, I'm a jack of all trades. In long, I rely heavily on having skills that impress/make me useful to other people as a crutch for my perceived lack of social skills and lack of confidence in my...personality(???), which is a thing I am trying to fix. (Not that I don't enjoy picking up new skills - I make it a point to learn a new one every year.) It's a work in progress...

I love video games, like, a lot! The first game that was properly mine was Pokemon Gold on the GBC (previously, my brother always tried to "help") and my favourite Pokemon in my team was Dragonite. The online handle name I have been using since I was about 9 until this day is derived from the nickname I gave her. These days I mostly play indie games on the PC, but I actually like portable consoles. My favourite genres are 2D pixel horror (BUT I don't like 3D horror) and puzzle games. I generally don't vibe with 3D, but will try sometimes. I actively dislike mobile games that gate activity with an energy refresh over time mechanic, and games where gacha is a primary focus/required to play well.

Media I Like

Games: Undertale, DELTARUNE, Night in the Woods, Hollow Knight, OMORI, INSIDE, Monster Hunter, Minecraft, Terraria, No Man's Sky, Dangan Ronpa, The World Ends With You (I like 1 more than 2, TBH), Pokemon (GSC/BW are my favourites), Project Diva Arcade (now Mega Mix I guess), Yume 2kki (more so than Yume Nikki I'm sorry...), Higurashi When They Cry, Ib, Hatoful Boyfriend/Holiday Star, Butterfly Soup, Dragon Quest Monsters (1 & 2, both the GBC and 3DS versions), Dragon Quest Builders, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, The Legend of Zelda (The Minish Cap & Breath of the Wild), Animal Crossing, Baba is You

More games I enjoy but am unsure whether to list as I haven't played all games in the series: Professor Layton, Ace Attorney, Touhou, FFXIV

I have not really been reading/watching manga and anime, although I used to be very much more obsessed as a teenager, so I have a little bit of knowledge here and there...

Anime that I like: Digimon Adventure (do not like 02, have not finished Tri), Summer Wars (favourite movie of all time actually), Natsume Yuujinchou, Spirited Away, Kino no Tabi (bit of a trick answer bc I like the books more), Puella Magi Madoka Magica (haven't watched the movies), TIGER & BUNNY

Manga that I like: Dragon Drive (criminally underrated), Shimanami Tasogare (Our Dreams at Dusk), Dungeon Meshi, Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation
