Programming :: Blinkie Maker - About(Logs)

Had an Idea and started yet another project. Oh no!

Actually, I never actually made blinkies with blinkie makers of the past, so this isn't so much fuelled by nostalgic passion as trying to revive something that I used to see occasionally (I feel like I might have manually drawn blinkies myself, though). This came about because I feel like I saw an automated blinkie maker once before (possibly a PHP one, with very restrictive styling?), but couldn't find anything similar now.

I've also been wanting to come up with a Vue project to learn it with, and same for canvas. Why not both at once? (This is probably a bad idea.)

So far, I've done:

  • Basic page layout
  • 5 block styles + 1 basic font
  • Loading data from JSON, dynamically generating block palette styles

I'm planning to host this one on Neocities, so it's a standalone thing. The downside of working in plain HTML is that the page is rapidly getting extremely large...but so far, I'm quite pleased with Vue.

Next todo:

  • Block editing and creation
  • Animation setup
  • Probably make another font so I can test font selection

Most problems that I foresee are to do with maintaining interest (I really want to work on main site stuff, there's still so much to do), some UI stuff...I don't doubt I can get this done if I spend enough time on it, but my interest is fleeting and it's hard to keep on a task when you're the only person excited about it haha...(also I have other deadlines oh no)
